Pastry Chef Lee Horswill and his partner, Bread Baker David Ellertsen, are the co-owners of Brown Bear Baking on beautiful Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. Both are classically french trained at the San Francisco Baking Institute - the only school in the United States dedicated exclusively to Artisan Baking under Chef Michel Suas.

Please call us Friday - Monday, 48 hours in advance at 360-855-7456 to place an order. Since we're busy baking, we'll return your call after 4 pm to confirm your order details and payment. Orders may be picked up after 8.30 am Friday - Monday.
Bread orders are available Sat, Sun, and Mon

We craft bake in small batches throughout the day to ensure the best texture and flavor in our french pastry and bread.
